SS316 (United States steel grades) is a kind of Molybdenum Stainless Steel with good resistance to chloride corrosion. Its corrosion resistance is better than SS304 stainless steel, with good resistance to the erosion of the sea and air erosion. SS316 has good resistance to oxidation at 1600 degrees intermittent using and continuous working below 1700 degrees. Also it’s of good welding performance, can take all the standard welding method for welding. But SS316 stainless steel can not be heat treated for hardening.
