Rubber expansion joints

Rubber expansion joints

The role of the expansion joint is to protect the installations from vibrations and expansions that the pipework could undergo. The expansion joints allow lateral, axial and

limited angular movements. The diversity of elastomers lets it respond to all kinds of applications: water, air, abrasive products, and certain acids. However, beware, they aren

’t meant for correcting misalignments in the pipework.

HuanZhong rubber expansion joints are used in lots of applications, where it concerns safety, health, environment, durability and lifetime. Bellows are made from various kinds of

rubber, e.g. EPDM, Butyl, Nitril, Chloroprene, Viton and combinations.

Rubber bellows are often reinforced by steel wire cord, textile (rubberized) cord, nylon tire cord, PA textile cord etc. Therefore they are capable to absorb axial, lateral and

angular movements while being under low or higher pressures and temperatures.

Due to the construction techniques and rubber quality and mixtures, rubber expansion joints are pre-eminently suitable for applications in water, warm water, drinking water,

cooling water, waste water, seawater etc. Our scope also covers the need of expansion joints for applications in (weak) acids, alkalis, compressed air, oils, gasoline, grease

and solvents.

We also offer rubber expansion joints for hot oils, benzene, xylene, alcohols, esters, ketones, town-gas and natural gas and LPG (acc. to EN 589) and even foodstuffs

rubber expansion joints can withstand temperature variations in a ranging from -25 °C up to 120°C (temporarily 150°C).

They have an excellent chemical resistance as well as high physical strength. On top of it, rubber bellows have very good corrosion characteristics.

HuanZhong rubber bellows and expansion joints are generally produced and assembled in sizes from nominal 20 mm (3/4”) up to nominal 1000 mm (40”).

Because of our broad package of different stainless steel bellows, they can be used in both static and flexible applications and installations where constant flexing or

vibration is required.
