The importance of dismantling joints for drinking water pipes

Drinking water pipeline is a pipeline system that directly conveys drinking and domestic water to the residents, and the quality of the delivered water determines people's health.

Because the disassembly joint is a metal product, it has high tensile and compressive strength, superior soft sealing performance, easy loading and unloading, etc. It is often used in electric power, metallurgical water supply and drainage and sewage treatment industries, mainly for the connection between pumps and valves and pipes. In the pipeline can effectively compensate and relieve the pipeline blind thrust, but also can facilitate the installation and maintenance of pumps and valves and replacement, is the ideal supporting products for the installation and operation of the pipeline.

Before installation, dismantling joints are carefully reviewed in strict accordance with the design requirements for expansion joint type, specification, material, expansion volume size, load-bearing capacity, and whether they correspond.

After the installation is completed, pressure test is required.

After the dismantling joint is installed, heat treatment and nondestructive inspection are qualified, a test shall be conducted and the pressure test shall conform to the following provisions.

Pressure test with liquid as the test medium, when the design pressure of the pipe is less than or equal to 0.6Mpa, gas can also be used as the test medium, but should take effective measures, brittle materials are strictly prohibited to use gas for pressure test.

When the site conditions do not allow the liquid or gas for pressure testing, with the consent of the construction unit, the following methods can be used at the same time instead.

Dismantling joints all welds with liquid penetration method or magnetic particle method for inspection. Butt welds with radiation for inspection. When the pressure test, should be designated as a restricted area, no extraneous personnel shall not enter.
