Welding of corrugated expanders

Welding of corrugated expanders
The location of the corrugated expanders must not interfere with the operation, disassembly and maintenance of the equipment, piping and valve body itself, taking into account the aesthetic appearance of the components. Corrugated expanders are installed on horizontal pipelines with the stem up, or at an inclined angle, rather than with the handwheel down. Corrugated expanders, valve stems and handwheels on overhead pipelines can be mounted horizontally, with chains hanging low to operate the valve opening and closing from a distance. The corrugated expanders on the side-drawn pipe must have the same centerline height, while the net distance between the handwheels must not be less than 100 mm; the valves on the side-drawn horizontal pipe must be staggered to reduce the pipe spacing.

①Check carefully whether the type and specification of corrugated expanders meet the drawing requirements.
②Check the flexibility of the valve stem and corrugated expander opening, regardless of whether it is stuck and tilted.
③Check whether the corrugated expander is damaged and whether the thread of the threaded valve is correct and complete.
④Check that the seat is securely attached to the valve body and the valve flap is attached to the seat, cover and body, stem and flap.
⑤ Check whether the corrugated expander filling, packing and fasteners (packing parts) meet the requirements of working medium performance.
⑥The old or long-term pressure relief valve should be removed and cleaned with water for dust and grit and other debris.
⑦ Clear the through-port capping and check the sealing degree, the valve flap must be closed tightly.

When installing heavier corrugated expanders on pumps, heat exchangers and other equipment, a valve bracket shall be set up, and when the corrugated expanders are operated frequently and installed above 1.8 meters from the operating surface, a fixed operating platform shall be set up. If there is an arrow mark on the valve body of the corrugated expander, the direction of the arrow is the flow direction of the medium. When installing the corrugated expander, attention should be paid to make the arrow pointing in the same direction as the media flow in the pipeline.
